Right beside Cairns there is a unique natural environment just waiting to be explored. Trinity Inlet (Great Barrier Reef Coast Marine Park) is a maze of mangroves and waterways with picturesque scenery and an abundance of wildlife including crocodiles. And, nestled in one of its secluded creeks is the fascinating Cairns Crocodile Farm. This tour includes 3 amazing adventures;
Wilderness Cruise:
Alongside Cairns is a magnificent tidal estuary that is rarely seen, except by fishermen. Only accessible by boat, you will travel on the only luxury, air-conditioned cruise along Trinity Inlet on this scenic nature cruise. With waterways winding through a 300 square kilometre maze of mangroves, expect rich diverse wildlife, stunning scenery and a relaxing cruise with informative commentary from your crew. This is the saltwater crocodiles natural habitat, spot them basking on the muddy banks.
Cairns Crocodile Farm:
Gain exclusive access to this commercial crocodile farm. You will arrive either by boat or coach. There are no jumping croc shows here; it is Australias largest crocodile farm with over 20,000 farm crocodiles & 200 large breeding crocodiles. Skins from this farm are considered the highest grade in the world (and used for designer handbags & accessories for the rich and famous). During your insiders tour you'll get close up to the crocodiles in their natural environment and learn from a very knowledgeable tour guide about breeding habits, how the eggs are collected and how crocodiles are farmed.
Scenic Coach Tour:
You will cruise to / from the Crocodile Farm aboard the MV Crocodile Explorer and complete the other one-way journey on a 30 minute coach tour through southern Cairns. The coach tour takes in the wide open sugar cane fields and surrounding mountain ranges and along the way your guide will give insightful information about the sugar cane industry and the history of the area.
VENUE: Coach transfers available to the departure point from Cairns & Northern Beaches. However, if making your own way, you will need to check in at the desk in the Reef Fleet Terminal, 1 Spence Street, Cairns.
DURATION: Departs daily at either 9.30am / 1.30pm. If making your own way, you are required to check in 30 minutes prior to departure. Tour lasts for approximately 3 hours.
