Half Day Camel Tour

DESCRIPTION: Departing from the camel farm you will explore the fabulous nieghbouring valley. Your adventure will take you through native mallee bush land and you will ride the gradual descent into the valley.

Flanked on one side by the inspiring Dutchman escarpment and on the other by the ridge you have just ridden down. You’ll follow an ancient dry creek bed, dotted with River Red Gums, stopping at a bend in the creek to boil the Billy and munch on an Anzac biscuit or two. Following afternoon tea you will ride out of the valley, beginning your gradual ascent back to the camel farm, arriving at approximately 2:30pm. Wildlife abounds, undisturbed by the quiet padding of your camel. This tour gives you a great insight into early European settler lifestyle, passing by a turn of the century cottage and a corrugated iron woolshed, still in use today.

VENUE: The tour departs from the camel farm in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia.

DURATION: Departs 11.30am and returns at 2.30pm.

VALID FOR: 1 person. A minimum number of 2 people required for the tour to operate.

RESTRICTIONS: Bookings essential. Tours may be cancelled due to unfavorable weather conditions in which case they will be rescheduled for another date. All participants are required to wear a helmet whilst enjoying the camel ride. The half day tour is available every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

What to Wear:
- Comfortable clothing, including long pants – even if it’s warm.
- Closed in shoes.
- Peaked caps can be work under your helmet.

What to Bring:
- Camera.
- Hat / sunscreen / lip-cream / sunglasses.
- Small water bottle (up to 1 Litre).
- Insect repellant.

What is Included:
