Ocean to the Outback Camel Tour and Cruise

DESCRIPTION: Enjoy a leisurely cruise aboard a fantastic boat called "Champagne" where the Flinders Ranges and the Southern Ocean meet, followed by a camel ride, some gourmet bushfood and a lovely walk to learn about some of the bushfood.

On your camel ride you are able to relax beneath an enormous outback sky while you are safely in the hands of Australia’s most experienced cameleer. Watch for kangaroos & emus as the sun slowly sinks toward the rim of the Dutchman escarpment. Undisturbed by the quiet footsteps of the camel you will be amazed at how close you get before they bound away. Dinner is a 2 course gourmet bush food delight accompanied by Flinders Ranges wine or ice cold beer. Enjoy a short after dinner ramble through the surrounding bushland, with your guide, an expert in native foods, foods that are still harvested today by Australia’s indigenous peoples. You will be transported back in time as you experience some of Australia’s ancient bush foods and discuss bush medicines.

The tour will finish at your original departure point. Ie. If your departure point was Port Augusta, you will be transferred back to Port Augusta.

VENUE: The tour departs from either the camel farm in the Flinders Ranges or from Wharflands in Port Augusta, South Australia.

DURATION: Allow Half a Day.

VALID FOR: 1 person. A minimum number of 2 people required for the tour to operate.

RESTRICTIONS: Bookings essential. The bushwalk is seasonal and may be substituted for an alternative campfire talk. Tours may be cancelled due to unfavorable weather conditions in which case they will be rescheduled for another date. All participants are required to wear a helmet whilst enjoying the camel ride.

What to Wear:
- Comfortable clothing, including long pants – even if it’s warm.
- Closed in shoes.
- Peaked caps can be work under your helmet.

What to Bring:
- Camera.
- Hat / sunscreen / lip-cream / sunglasses.
- Small water bottle (up to 1 Litre).
- Insect repellant.
