DESCRIPTION: Departing two hours before sunset this camel tour is the perfect opportunity to absorb the stillness and timelessness of Australia’s oldest arid mountain range.
As a warm breeze brushes by, you will be amazed by the subtleties of fragrances; the dry earthy smells from the north, mixing with the honey fragrance of the grass tree flowers as you ride past. Your guide will have your mouth watering as he tells you how to make cordial from the berries of the Ruby Saltbush that you are riding past, or points out the seed pods of the Acacia Victoreii used for thousands of years as a food source by the Australian Aboriginals, and today used for it’s fantastic coffee like flavour. As the galahs and cockatoo’s begin their raucous calling before settling for the night the sun sinks behind the rim of the towering Dutchman escarpment. The first stars wink on in the evening sky as you complete your journey, 2 hours after departing.
