DESCRIPTION: There is a special something about steam trains that captures the imagination of people of all ages and from all walks of life. This experience takes you back to another era, with an authentic steam train experience linking the historic goldfields towns of Castlemaine and Maldon in Central Victoria – along a broadgauge track first laid in the 1880s.

You will travel in a splendid First Class carriage and enjoy complimentary wine and nibbles as you watch the country side and forest from your carriage. As a special treat one participant will be able to enjoy a ride on the loco (minimum age is 16 for loco ride) with the crew on a section of the line. This adds a unique extra dimension to the journey.

You will also receive a copy of a glossy, full colour Souvenir Book about the railway as a long lasting memento of your steam era experience.

VENUE: Journeys may be commenced at Castlemaine or Maldon

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: No Trains will operate on days of Total Fire Ban for the North Western Fire Region of Victoria, and No Trains will operate on days of Catastrophic or Extreme weather conditions for the North Western Fire Region of Victoria.
