DESCRIPTION: This interesting tour takes us through the rich farming communities of Gippsland to the mountainous regions of the Great Dividing Range. Just a short drive east of Melbourne you will discover a village that time has passed by, the Walhalla Township.
Located in a deep valley in the Victorian Alps, Walhalla Historic Township is one of Victoria's hidden treasures. Discover the fascinating history of this once rich gold mining town and walk into the historic heart of one of the world's richest gold mines as we take a guided tour through the Long Tunnel Extended Gold Mine. Sit back and relax with a ride on the restored Walhalla Goldfields Railway as it winds its way from Thomson via Happy Creek to Walhalla.
Enjoy a stroll through this intriguing township and enjoy the crystal clear waters at beautiful Coopers Creek. After exploring this delightful town and valley, you will have experienced a part of Victoria you will never forget.
