DESCRIPTION: This relaxing and scenic off-road vineyard and lakeside wagon trail combines a range of taste sensations with exquisite scenery.
The taste sensations include locally produced ice-creams, nougat, extra virgin olive oils, dukkah, seasonal fresh and dried fruits and fresh home-made local produce.
Relax and enjoy scenic vineyard and lakeside trailing through the natural bird sanctuary (Lake Yakine).
Your tour includes:
- informative presentation on the comparative tasting of local quality fresh extra virgin olive oils and locally produced dukkah
- local produce tastings including items such as olive oil, dukkah, jams, pickles, relishes, sauces, honey, seasonal fruits and dried fruits
- opportunity to view, touch and taste fruit straight from the vines (subject to the season and the weather)
- personal commentary on one of our state's most historic sites and Western Australia's oldest churches, All Saints Church
- child's portion lunch at the picturesque and Valley View Restaurant
- visit to Maalinup Gallery and gift shop to enjoy a journey into the indigenous culture so richly captured in the Swan Valley. Guests will have the opportunity to learn the technique required to throw a boomerang, the background to traditional tools, listen to dream time stories, learn about bush tucker, play a didgeridoo as well as discover the beauty of hand crafted glassware, jewellery pieces and many other items suitable as souvenirs or unique gifts
- visit to Oggie's Ice Cream Cafe & English Lolly Shop, the Swan Valley's independent ice creamery
- visit to Charlie's Estate Wines and Nougat for nougat tastings
PRICE: $65 per child under 14 years of age (includes GST)
VENUE: Trails depart from the Wagon Trail Base. The Wagon Trails meander through the peaceful Henley Brook area - only 25 minutes from Perth.
DURATION: Wagon trails are conducted daily Wednesday to Sunday and public holidays, commencing at 9:30am. The tour takes approximately 7 hours but may vary according to group sizes.
VALID FOR: 1 child under 14 years of age. Tours are conducted for a minimum of 2 passengers and a maximum of 40 passengers.
RESTRICTIONS: There are no restrictions on age or fitness, as this activity is considered a "Soft Adventure".
Children are not permitted to consume any alcohol on this tour.
We operate in all seasons.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: We are happy to provide a courtesy coach transfer from Guildford Train Station and return - please book your transfer when you book your trail.
Children up to the age of 1 year old may ride for an additional $10 fee payable on the day of the tour. They will need to be self-catered by their parents and either nursed in their parent's arms or placed in a stroller.
