DESCRIPTION: Perfect beaches, calm seas, sea lions, dolphins, pristine reefs and all of these can be seen from the comfort of your sea kayak and only 45 minutes from Perth. You can experience all that Western Australia has to offer on our sea kayak adventure!
Following a 45 minute drive from Perth to Shoalwater Marine Park (a beautiful bay with several limestone islands), you will be introduced to the other group members. We provide all of the equipment including snorkelling gear, lunch, and easy to paddle double kayaks with water proof compartments.
Then we kayak to Seal Island, a distance of approximately 1 km, where we look at Australian Sea Lions. Under the conditions usually experienced (light easterly breeze) this kayak trip will take about 15 minutes.
Next, we paddle approximately 2 km (about a 30 minute kayak) to Penguin Island where we land and have an excellent picnic lunch, followed by a visit to the Penguin Centre where we can watch some of the penguins being fed.
Afterwards, you are free to do what you like - fall asleep under a tree or in the sun, snorkel, swim, kayak, or explore the coast and caves of the island. We can also take you on a nature walk around the island to discover the many and varied shellfish, starfish, crabs, sea birds (including a pelican colony), lizards, dolphins and some great views of the bay.
At around 2.30pm, we muster for the return, often rafting the boats up and sailing back if the winds are right. This is a distance of approximately 2.5 km. After packing the gear and changing into dry clothes, we drive back to Perth, arriving at approximately 4.30pm.
PRICE: $85 per child (including GST).
VENUE: A Perth pick up is available. This experience takes place at Shoalwater Marine Park (Rockingham) - a 45 minute drive from Perth.
DURATION: This experience is a full day in duration. We will pick you up from Perth between 7.45 - 8.15am and you will return at approximately 4.30pm.
VALID FOR: 1 child.
RESTRICTIONS: Children aged 4-16 years old must be supervised by an accompanying adult.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: In the case of poor weather conditions, we may reschedule your experience for a later date.
