DESCRIPTION: Are you or someone you know a Young Driver (Under 18 and/or L Plates)? Why not give them the skills to drive well with a Defensive Driver Training Course. The Defensive Driver Training Course is very valuable to young drivers as it allows these drivers to experience a few things that may just make them safer on the road.
What is a defensive driving course? A defensive driving course is designed to provide drivers with information and practical training to become a safer road user, and it is suitable for all drivers. The defensive driving course is made up of two components the first includes a comprehensive multi-media presentation, with content including understanding human factors, defensive driving techniques, managing and reducing risks associated with driving and vehicle performance and systems. There is plenty of time for group discussion and interaction to insure drivers can relate to the information being presented.
The second component is outside and all hands-on. This includes a brief on vehicle maintenance, seating position and steering technique.
This is followed by a variety of simulated emergency braking exercises. These are designed specifically so that drivers can safely explore the effects of speed, road surface and different braking systems when faced with an emergency.
The majority of drivers, young and old, have never practiced stopping in an emergency and as a result can not appreciate why travelling too fast for the conditions is so dangerous. A one day defensive driving course is the first step towards creating safer drivres and is essential for all drivers. The team or rather professionals, are qualified and friendly and will make sure you feel safe and gain the most from the course.
All participants will be presented with a Certificate of Achievement for attending the course.
