Be a Race Car Driver for a Day!

DESCRIPTION: Experience the thrills of driving your own V8 Commodore race car! and spend the day with our team of professional race car drivers.

Want to experience car racing, but aren't sure how? Or maybe you just haven’t got a spare hundred thousand dollars? We will have you racing a V8 Commodore around a circuit in Bathurst style races with full, one-on-one instruction. No matter what your skill level we will show you how. We can cater for EVERY skill level!

You will perform various exercises teaching control at different speeds, cornering, threshold braking, steering and also avoidance techniques. All exercises will put your forward vision and concentration levels to the test. At the completion of the course you will walk away with knowledge of various safety aspects of a vehicle, vehicle dynamics and increased car control.

FULL DAY PROGRAM:

8:45	ARRIVAL	Proceed to the lecture room for coffee. Select driving suit and helmet, and meet your fellow drivers and instructors.
9:00	LECTURE	Learn about vehicle dynamics and advanced driving principles.
9:45	SUIT UP	Suit up in your driving suit, and proceed to your car.
10:00	EXERCISES	Exercises include slalom, chicane, corner apexing, braking, steering, corner entry and exits.
1:00	LUNCH	Sit down to a hot gourmet lunch.
2:00	BRIEFING	Question and answer time and format for the afternoon.
2:20	QUALIFYING	Time to test what you have learned so far.
3:00	TACTICS	Practice driver changes and plan tactics with other team members.
3:20	STARTING GRID	Assemble cars on the starting grid (first driver ready).
3:30	EVENT 1	Event 1 starts, 16 laps.
4:15	EVENT 2	Event 2 starts, 16 laps.
4:45	HOT LAPS	Time for the Instructors to show you how it’s really done, or revenge!
5:00	TROPHY	Meet at the Media Centre for the presentation of trophies for the winners, fastest qualifier, and Achievement Certificates for all drivers.
