DESCRIPTION: Experience the thrill of silent flight, soaring like an eagle, and if lucky, you can even spot one. Enjoy a touring glider flight from Caboolture Airfield in Brisbane, over the magnificent Moreton Island. This is a photographer's dream!
On Climb to 3500 feet we will cruise past the Pumicestone Passage and Bribie Island across Moreton Bay, and glide into Tangalooma Wrecks and Resort on Moreton Island. Take in the best views of Tangalooma Wrecks and the Wild Dolphin Resort.
We will cross to the Pacific Ocean side, track north up the beach to Cape Moreton. In whale season you are almost guaranteed to see whales (June - October). We will then climb to 4500 feet and glide across the breathtaking Spitfire Channel to Caloundra. It is then that we cruise out to the Glasshouse Mountains where we will go past Mt Beerwah and Tibrogargan on climb to 4500 feet for a relaxing glide back to Caboolture airfield.
On the day, you will be gliding with a senior gliding instructor who will demonstrate to you how to fly these sophisticated gliders. It is then your turn to take the controls and enjoy the rewarding experience of flying like a bird. This is an experience you will never forget!
