DESCRIPTION: Have you ever wanted to learn how to play the drums? Or if you already know how, are there new skills that you would like to learn? Here is your chance, with this drum lesson package which includes six 45 minute lessons at the studio in Sydney.

Imagine what it would be like to finally be able to sit and play the drums and feel like a total rockstar! How exciting would it be to be able to play your very own songs that you have composed? You will be taught by a professional drummer and tutor who has 10 years experience in this field. His relaxed teaching style and individually tailored approach to drum lessons made him a very popular drums and percussion tutor with a 2 year waiting list (in the UK) at one point.

This package includes six 45 minute lessons at the studio in Avalon, Sydney. The structure of the lessons depends on your age and experience level, however, for beginners the focus tends to be on:

~ Developing correct technique (grip, foot pedals, striking the drum correctly) and posture

~ Understanding rhythm and simple notation followed by learning some basic grooves (rock, pop, jazz) and sticking patterns (Rudiments).

As a student's skill level grows then the lessons become more tailored to the individuals interest and areas which require most work. All styles will be covered, with rock, jazz and latin independence being worked on, as well as applying the rudiments by learning to interpret a drum chart, playing with a click track, understanding song structure and developing a musical and sensitive approach to drumming, which is always popular with other musicians! Of course learning favourite songs and having fun with the instrument is important too.

Even if you are experienced with playing the drums, come along and enjoy these four lessons to help improve certain skills or learn new ones! You're never too old to learn how to play the drums, as long as you can move all four limbs!

VENUE: Studio in Avalon, Sydney NSW.

DURATION: Each lesson is approximately 45 minutes. This packages includes six separate 45 minute lessons.

VALID FOR: 1 person.

RESTRICTIONS: Bookings are essential.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Age of the participant - Children under the age of seven don't generally respond well to lessons due in part to the physical challenges of reaching the foot pedals and sometimes difficulty in focusing on one thing for more than a couple of minutes. As always there are exceptions and if your child is adamant they want to try then we are happy for them to come along and give it a go.

Equipment that you will need - No equipment is necessary for the first lesson. Within the first month a student should have a set of sticks (5a), a practice pad, a folder and notepad for music and a USB memory stick for media to take home. All sheet music is provided.
