DESCRIPTION: Leaving the ‘City of Churches’ we head north on our way through Gawler which was designed by Colonel William Light who also surveyed Adelaide...
Our first stop is in southern Lyndoch where you can start your tastings for the day or you can enjoy a wonderful tea or excellent coffee at your own expense. Just over the hill is our first Chateau where you will be taken back to a time when life was very different. Witness firsthand how German people, who immigrated to Australia, built a better life in South Australia and in particular - the Barossa Valley.
Our gourmet lunch is served adjacent to the next Château. Afterwards, you have ample time for more tastings at the cellar door, meander for a while in the gardens or perhaps you’d like to view our famous Aussie opals. Perchance you’d prefer to indulge yourselves in a banquet of world class cheeses. The Château’s are a photographer’s delight. So don’t forget your cameras. Yet another German cellar door awaits us as we trip head long into our next tastings. The vista here is breath taking. You’ll savour as you sip and take pleasure in your visual delectation. But there’s still time for one more winery, or if you’re ‘cellared out’ why not enjoy a refreshing tea or coffee. Now, you can sit back and enjoy the view on our drive back to your Hotel.
